Across the US, the number of tent cities is growing. San Francisco, Washington D.C., Las Cruces, St. Louis, Honolulu, Seattle, and Indianapolis all feature encampments for the homeless. Seattle has even declared a state of emergency on homelessness.
The Pareto Principle and Price’s Law seem to govern almost all human activity. It might be explained by the small number of people on the right side of any normal distribution. The small number “smart,” or “gifted,” or “exceptional” people on the right are able to identify the 20% of actions or “input’s” that govern successful outcomes.
These people tend to become very successful. On the other hand, individuals on the left side of the normal distribution are much less successful, and they range from average or low income downward towards poverty. In short, most all of the world’s resources are in the hands of very few people.
